Is Your Website Optimized for Google
Every website owner’s dream is to have their website appear on the first page of Google, for the simple reason of getting the most number of visitors to your website. For many, other search engines do not really matter, since Google remains the default search engine of choice.
It is no secret that even when a visitor is searching for your website using using your web address eg www.yoursite.com, they will not use the browser address bar, instead they will open Google and enter the url on the Google search bar. If Google has not yet indexed your website, they will simply conclude that your website is not online. That is how powerful Google has become.
So how do you optimize your website for Google? Always keep in mind that Google keeps changing, its Page Rank algorithms (PageRank is an algorithm used by Google Search to rank websites in their search engine results. PageRank was named after Larry Page, one of the founders of Google. PageRank is a way of measuring the importance of website pages.) Once you understand how the page rank algorithm works, you are in a better position to have your website appear on the first page of Google search results.
To put it simply, people use keywords to search for any website, because they do not know all the billions of website addresses. That means when searching for a graphic designer, instead of searching for “John Doe”, they will search for “Graphic Designers” and if John Doe has properly optimized his website online with “Graphic Designer” as keyword, then he is likely to get a flood of customers.
Keywords and Key phrases play an integral part in website optimization. If your website is about graphic design, then the word graphic design should be part of your web address, your website title and your web content. However, keywords and key phrases are just the beginning of search engine optimization.
